(03 Jun, 2018)

Dear Friends, We are pleased to inform that 19 members team of STEP has duly returned to Delhi after safely and successfully completing the tough and challenging high altitude trekking expedition to "Mandani Valley" in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The team departed from Delhi in the night of 19th May, 2018 alongwith the team of Madhmaheshwar Trek, reached Rishikesh the next morning and Ransi in the evening. It utilized the three day trek to Sri Madhmaheshwar ji as acclimatization. Its real trek started from 24th May, when trekkers a tough climb of 2500 feet took them to Bagalkoti. Another climb of almost 2200 feet took the trekkers to Talla Patouri. They further trekked to Thouli Dhar, Dwara Khal (4109 metres), Dobra Bugyal, Mandhani Valley, Yeumbuk Col. base, Yeumbuk Col. (4429 metres), Bishali Col.(4589 metres), Mahapanth Col. (4529 metres), Sri Kedarnath ji and Gaurikund. It was a tough trek but all trekkers rose to the occasion excellently. Acclimatization during Madhmaheshwar stretch also helped the trekkers to prepare to tough trek. The trekkers crossed four high altitude passes including two (Yeumbuk and Bishali) in a day. Each day presented different challenge. Two day's camping was on ice and during these days the trekking was on ice/snow. The trekkers expereinced heavy rains at Mandhani Valley and Snowfall at Yeumbuk base and Bishali campsites. The trekkers had an excellent darshan of Sri Madhmaheshwar ji and Sri Kedarnath ji.
