CHANDRATAL-SHIVLING GLACIER-BARALACHA TREK, Himachal Pradesh

Commencing from the scenic hill station of Manali, the trek follows the route through and to the beautiful Chandratal Lake, perched at a height of 13,000 ft. above sea level. After spending the night in camps at the lakeside, start your journey ahead via Topko Gongma, Topko Yongma, finally leading you to the Baralacha La, situated at an elevation of 16,000 ft. Designated to be of moderate to challenging grade, the Chandratal Baralacha trek is packed with all the necessary elements an ardent trekker looks forward in an ideal trekking excursion. With its immense scenic beauty and plethora of thrilling twists and turns along the journey, the trek, undoubtedly will leave you asking for more.

Tue, 13 Sep Chandra Tal (4250 meters/13940 feet) to Tridhara /Tokpo Yogma (4350 meters/14300 feet) - 6-7 hours. 12 kms
Wed, 14 Sep Tokpo Yogma to Gadi Thach/Tokpo Gongma (4650 meters/15250 feet) -5 hours. 10 kms
Thu, 15 Sep Tokpo Gongma to Shivling Gleciar (Near Baralacha ) (4950 meters/16236 feet)- 6-7 hours 10 kms
Fri, 16 Sep Shivling Gleciar to Baralacha Pass 2hrs Drive to Nagar 6-7 hrs Journey 5 kms trek/160 kms motorable
Sat, 17 Sep Camp breaks after breakfast. People may visit Manali on their own.

Inclusions inclusive of travel ex-Naggar. Accidental group insurance, simple/tented accommodation and vegetarian meals.
Exclusions does not include personal porterage. Participants are expected to carry their own rucksacks
Cancellations Charges
Other Important Instructions STEP takes every care for the safety of the participants during the trekking expeditions. However, it should not be held responsible in the event of any mishap and accident.Cancellations Charges: 10% if notice of cancellation is received 30 days, 25% on a notice between 15-29 days, 40% on a notice between 7-14 days before the commencement of programme. No fee is refundable on a notice of less than 7 days.

  • The participation is open to the members of “SOCIETY FOR TREKKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION”. To learn more about how to become a member of our society, please click here.
  • Fee is payable by cash/cheque/DD in favour of “SOCIETY FOR TREKKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION” payable at New Delhi. Rs.250/- will be charged extra for dishonoured cheque and such members will have to pay fee by cash or DD only.
  • The members can also deposit fee in our Saving Bank A/c No. 012900 0100526284 with Punjab National Bank, Minto Road Branch, New Delhi and send us the scan/photo copy of deposit slip.
  • The desirous participants shall apply in prescribed participation form along with necessary risk certificate/medical certificate.
  • Please note that dates, schedule, duration, fee of any programme is subject to change without any notice.
  • The Management Committee reserves the right to reject any application for Membership/Participation without assigning any reasons thereof.
