STEP presents a “Two Days Workshop on “Nature Awareness for Urban Citizens” in collaboration with Ecotone Adventures. The programme has been designed to communicate in a very simplified, convenient and effective manner which will elaborate the science behind the working of various kinds of ecosystems starting right from the basics. Our experts aim at providing an enriching experience to each member of the group and ensure that they receive accurate theoretical knowledge and a field experience that will deepen their understanding of concepts and facts. The workshop includes both indoor and outdoor activities so that each member may quickly connect and learn new thing in a fun and easy way.

Date & Day Particulars
Sat, 08 Jan The workshop will start at 2 p.m. sharp at the Lecture Hall-I, First Floor, Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. It would be in short sessions of 20 minutes each approximately and shall cover the topics like (i) Ecosystem functions and ecosystem services (ii) Introduction to Birds & Butterflies (iii) What is conservation and its present scenario in India (iv) People and nature in Urban World followed by Doubt clearing session, Q&A session etc. N.A.
Sun, 09 Jan It will be a field visit to ‘Sultanpur National Park’ in Gurgaon, Haryana. The participants shall assemble at 9 a.m. at the gate of the park. They will be taken inside the park to study (i) Habitat diversity (ii) Component of ecosystems (iii) Ecological linkages among habitats (iv) Biodiversity (v) Birds migratory routes etc. (vi) Other activities like Quiz round etc. N.A.

  • Fee is payable by cash/cheque/DD in favour of “SOCIETY FOR TREKKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION” payable at New Delhi. Rs.250/- will be charged extra for dishonoured cheque and such members will have to pay fee by cash or DD only.
  • The members can also deposit fee in our Saving Bank A/c No. 012900 0100526284 with Punjab National Bank, Minto Road Branch, New Delhi and send us the scan/photo copy of deposit slip.
  • The desirous participants shall apply in prescribed participation form along with necessary risk certificate/medical certificate.
